Welcome

Please keep a copy of all forms you send in to the school office for your personal records.

Please note that enrollment with Golden Acres Christian School is not the same as joining a support group (Ex: Freedom Homeschoolers, LIGHT, etc.)

Enrollment

New Homeschooling Families enrollment:

  • Complete the Registration Formfor GACS
  • Read and sign the Disclaimer Form
  • Complete the Record Release Form so that school records may be forwarded to GACS.
  • Send your $40 tuition made payable to Golden Acres Christian School to the school office: 3405 S. Railroad St., Phenix City, AL 36870.
  • No applications will be accepted before June 16, 2011. This year's enrollment will be limited. We will accept applications on a first come, first served basis. We will notify each family or their enrollment status in writing. Those not admitted will be referred to other comparable programs in the area.

Returning GACS Families will receive new Registration forms in the mail during the month of May. Ro register for 2011-2012 please send the following forms for re-enrollment:

  • Submit all 1st and 2nd Semester Reports for the previous school year by June 15th.
  • Complete the Registration Form for the new school year. (Please be sure to update your address, phone # and email address)
  • Send your $40 tuition made payable to Golden Acres Christian School to the school office BEFORE June 15th.
  • Any Registrations received after June 15th will be processed along with new applicants on a first come, first served basis. This year's enrollment will be limited, but there is room for all currently enrolled families provided that they turn in their forms before the deadline of June 15th.
  • Enrollment with Golden Acres Christian school also includes a FREE membership to Homeschool Legal Advantage an HLA membership card and a last will and testaments drafted by one of their attorneys. This is a new benefit for our member families.

    Policies and Procedures

    Here is a copy of our school Policies and Procedures. Please read them carefully so you may know what is expected of your family and what you may expect from GACS.

    These policies are updated annually. This link shows our ppolicies for the 2008-09 school year. We are currently revising our policies and will publish the new document for the 2009-10 school year during the summer of 2009. All families attending the Parent Meeting in September will received a copy of these policies.

    Attendance Reports

    Golden Acres Christian School requires 160 days of instruction during each school year. Holidays and schedules are left up to each family as long as a total of 160 days are accomplished between June 1st and May 31st. At least 4 hours of instruction are required to constitute a full school day. Field trips may be counted as a school day as long as 4 hours of learning was inolved.

    Attendance Reports are due to the school office twice a year: January 15th for the 1st semester and June 15th for the 2nd semester. Reports may be mailed or faxed to the school office. Print a report for each calendar month. Include all students you are instruction on one form. Be sure to calculate the total number of days for the month and the year-todate sections on the form.

    It is the responsibility of each family to keep up with the number of days for each school year.

    Progress Reports

    Progress Reports are due to the school office twice a year: January 15th for the 1st semester and June 15th for the 2nd semester. Reports may be mailed or faxed to the office.

    Print a report for each student. Homeschoolers grades K-8 use the Elementary Report. High School students use the High School Report.

    Withdrawal

    If you need to withdraw your student from Golden Acres Christian School, please print this form and mail or bring to the office for an administrator's signature. Please allow 3-5 business days for processing.
